I'd like to support the Tenement House in Glasgow. It reflects the way of life of a very ordinary but well doing Scot. The Trust has many much grander properies - perhaps with more appeal - but I found this one very interesting. It reminded me of the sort of folk I come from - and is interesting in itself.

My favourite piece is the travelling spice cabinet at Gladstone's Land, which could be locked and has handles for carrying. Although small it has a lot of drawers. Spices were expensive and it reminds you where the spices may have came from – some spices came from East Indies and were often used to flavour and perhaps disguise not so fresh meat, fish etc.
