John Pearce joined Cunard 1966 as a waiter and the Queen Mary was his first ship. He stayed with the ship until the Final Voyage in 1967.

After the Queen Mary was delivered to Long Beach, John went to work on the Queen Elizabeth and was then transferred to the QE2.

John was one of just three ex-Queen Mary crew who travelled to Long Beach for the 50th Anniversary celebrations. Here he is together with Commodore Everette Hoard
