My Uncle Tom served with the Corps from around 1942 until he was discharged in I believe 1945. Tom was an accomplished motor cyclist from a young age and based on what he told me some years ago he had an eventful time as a Despatch Rider during the Italian campaign; from his recollections it seemed quite hazardous-attempted "shoot ups" by Luftwaffe fighters were regular occurences. I am not sure where he was posted subsequently; he may have remained in Italy. After the War he was for several years acknowledged as one of the leading off-road motor cyclists; an expert "scrambler". He won several trophies. Tom had no children but we are a close family and would be delighted if any further details of his World War II service with the Corps could be obtained.
