It was in Sept 1963 that I arrived at 21st Signal Regt; after a day or two some others besides myself were put on a vehicle to be transported to variuse camp within 21st Sig; Regt; I/e Wildenrath, Bruggen, Gielenkirchen, just befor we move off a Cpl came and said these people get off the vehicle L/Cpl Savage, Sig Savvy, & sig McCready, The order came from Major T Canham we had all played football so were to stay at Laarbruch to play for the Regt, I am afraid at the trials on the Sat; I did not shine and was told Bye Bye, however on the Sunday there was a friendly game with another regt and they were a man short I stepped in and had a really good game Members of the 21st Sig Team had been watching and informed that, when they would have a talk with Mj Canham I would be staying at Laarbruck - I did stay for the next three yrs.
It was at Gielenkichen while sorting the MT out that I met my future Brother-in-laws Father a Terry Licence
