WO2 Leonard ARCHER is one of the 372 British Servicemen who died on active service during the four-year Cyprus Emergency April 1 1955 to April 18 1959, and whose name is among those remembered with honour on the British Cyprus Memorial. Serving with the Royal Artillery, and attached to Headquarters Staff, he was killed on August 11 1956. Aged 43 from Wakefield, Yorkshire, he is buried at Wayne’s Keep, the British military cemetery in Cyprus, Plot 21 Row C Grave 11.
