Cpl Christopher John COOPER is one of the 372 British Servicemen who died on active service during the four-year Cyprus Emergency April 1 1955 to April 18 1959, and whose name is among those remembered with honour on the British Cyprus Memorial. Serving with 3 GHQ Signals Regiment, Royal Signals, he was drowned near Episkopi on May 22 1956. Aged 21 from Poole, Dorset, he is buried at Wayne’s Keep, the British military cemetery in Cyprus, Plot 20 Row C Grave 14.
