Pte Malcolm Alan COOK s one of the 372 British Servicemen who died on active service during the four-year Cyprus Emergency April 1 1955 to April 18 1959, and whose name is among those remembered with honour on the British Cyprus Memorial. Serving with the Royal Norfolk Regiment, he was one of two killed when the vehicle they were travelling in ran over a landmine near Limassol on November 4 1956. Aged 18 from Great Yarmouth he is buried at Wayne’s Keep, the British military cemetery in Cyprus, Plot 23 Row C Grave 14. See also Pte Chittock.
