Pte David Douglas MORRISON is one of the 372 British Servicemen who died on active service during the four-year Cyprus Emergency April 1 1955 to April 18 1959, and whose name is among those remembered with honour on the British Cyprus Memorial. Serving with the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders he was shot dead in a terrorist ambush at Kathikas, a village near Paphos, on September 13 1958. Aged 22 from Aberdeen he is buried at Wayne’s Keep, the British military cemetery in Cyprus, Plot 25 Row B Grave 12.
