Fifty years after the ending of the Cyprus Emergency, hundreds of British veterans flew out to attend the unveiling in the Old British Cemetery in Kyrenia of the Memorial honouring the 372 Servicemen who lost their lives in that four-year campaign between 1955 and 1959. It was the culmination of a 30-month project designed to ensure that those who died — most of them National Servicemen — should not be forgotten by the country to which they were not to return.

A picture of the memorial can be seen on the home page.
