About the RAF Association

The Royal Air Forces Association is the charity that supports the RAF family, raising funds to carry out its vital welfare work through membership and via donations from the public.

We help both serving and former-serving personnel: whether it’s an injured airman fighting to get back on his feet, a young child missing their parent away from home or a veteran needing someone to lean on in later life, we’re here to help all generations of the RAF family.

Here are just some of the ways we help:

• More than 40 welfare grants are approved every week

• Last year we secured war pensions in excess of £495,000

• Over 2,000 people a year take a much needed break in our Wings Breaks hotels

• Our Storybook Wings initiative has helped over 2,600 serving RAF families feel closer together while parents are away

Receiving no government contributions, our work is completely funded by the generosity of our members and through vital donations from our supporters.
