Kenneth W. Garner MBE

Joined R.A.F. Halton at the age of 16 in 1939 and trained as a R.A.F. apprentice condensing a 3 year training course into a 2 year period due to the outbreak of WW2.

Joined R.A.F Services as Senior Technician in 1941

Service Record

1939 - 45 Star, Burma Star, Italy Star, War and Defence Star, Africa Star and mentioned in dispatches.

Left the service in 1953.

Joined Rolls Royce as a service engineer in 1953 and in 1969 was appointed Service Operations Manager (Far East Ltd.) based in Tokyo. He was based in Japan for ten years and was awarded the MBE for services to the country.

He returned to the UK in 1979 and became Service Operations Manager of Heathrow and Eastern Europe.
