Remembered by: Paul McKnight

Date added: 14 Sep 2012

1931820 Aged 82 Andre McKnight was a loving Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Husband. He had an infectious character, wicked sense of humour and touched the hearts of everyone he met. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. One of his most enduring traits was that he was always proud of the fact that he had followed the family tradition of becoming a "Sapper". He was never seen without his RE Old Comrades Association lapel badge; an organisation he joined as a life member in 1945.

"Mac" Joined the Corps on 01 September 1944 as a boy soldier. During his service he served in Libya, Cyprus, Malaya, Singapore, Borneo and Germany, finally leaving the Army in 1970. His base trade was as a Draughtsman before retraining as a Clerk of Works (Construction) in 1964.
