22201251 Maj (Retd) Dave Sparks.  30/04/1932 - 26/06/2018.

It is with sadness that the death of Dave Sparks is announced on 26/06/18 after a short illness. Dave was a true Sapper who joined the Corps of Royal Engineers in 1948 as an apprentice carpenter at Taunton and whose subsequent service fulfilled the Corps mottoes of “Ubique” and “Quo Fas Et Gloria Ducunt”. In his time, the youngest S/Sgt in the Corps at 21, which says much about his capabilities and commitment to the Corps and as a soldier. Dave Commissioned in 1971 and completed his 40 years of dedicated service to his Corps and Country in the rank of Major as a Garrison Engineer. Dave was a Sapper who followed the Corps spirit and ethos completely throughout his life, who made many lifelong friends wherever he went. Loving husband of Muriel (who predeceased him) and very proud Dad to Carolyn.
