Robert Colquhoun's birth was never documented for an unknown reason. Before the Battle of Waterloo, Robert Colquhoun was ranked at Ensign, but due to his effort on the battlefield with the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards he was promoted to a Quarter-Master. However, despite this, Robert Colquhoun decides to retire as a soldier. He then died on the 1st April 1840 and was buried in St Margret burial ground in Westminster, London
