Tribute by: Carol Green

Date added: 8 Aug 2014

My husband became a Serving Brother of St John Ambulance while he worked at the GLC. He had a radio telephone system in his car to be contacted.

A member of St John Ambulance responsible for radio communication, heard my husband over the radio waves and persuaded him to join.

He was an auxiliary member of Great London (Prince of Wales) District Ambulance Brigade for 14 years. During that time he helped with radio communications at the Queen's Silver Jubilee and other Royal occasions, as well as many other events like the Lord Mayor's shows.
