I first met Dave in Mar 1961 when we served with 18Sigs in Singapore. I worked as SDO supervisor and Dave in was in my troop. He was a real joker and hard worker. We were sent to Brunei at the time of the uprising and had great experience's there. We lost contact for years but I eventually found him in Bournemouth after searching his hometown of Sunderland. Dave had racing pigeons in Sunderland and also in Bournemouth but had to give up his hobby due to ill health. I will always remember his phone calls to Jimmy Tan and Dave would laugh when I mentioned it. Although called Geordie he was a true Makem. RIP Dave
