This book "A Treatise on Veterinary Medicine" (care of the horse) is in my eclectic Waterloo era collection. It was owned and carried by Major William Drummond of 2nd Bn, 3rd Foot Guards, in 1815 and is inscribed by him. William was at the Battle of Waterloo, earning the Waterloo medal. He was wounded in the battle and spent some time convalescing in Brussels before rejoining his Bn in Paris, as part of the Army of Occupation. William has made several handwritten notes in pencil through the book, highlighting sections that were clearly of importance to him, including making up 'mash'.
