Steve was a really lovely man. He was loved by all and is really sadly missed. Steve was a real family man and I loved going round to Olive and Steve's to sit and have a chinwag. You are truly missed Steve. Shirley and John

I never knew William personally, I have only known the fond words from his daughter Jan, who clearly loved her father very very much. Jan is an amazingly caring, strong, intelligent person who lives for her family. I now know where she gets her strength and determination from!!! I have just read 'Williams story' about his life and experiences in the RAF during world war II. His story oddly familiar, when you compare it to some of the great war movies, but has a strange air of reality when you consider that it is actually the story of a friends beloved father who lived only a few miles away. It quite amazing that heroes like William simply lived unassuming lives in our society. How many people have casually walked past William in his lifetime, unaware of the fact that he personnally contributed to the freedom that we all enjoy and take for granted today. William was a man I wish I could have had a cuppa and a chat with to listen to his stories. But instead I send my very best wishes to all of his family. Best wishes Alison Parkins x
